Dixfield Common Baptist Church
Sharing the Joy of Jesus with our World

New location for the warmer months

Our club has moved back to the Carthage Union Church to take advantage of the good fresh air and the great outdoors as we practice our shooting skills.

As a partner with the Carthage Union Church and through Centershot Ministries we have a ministry using the sport of archery. The program is simple: participants get to shoot bows and arrows as individuals or as a team, then spend time together studying the Bible.

Students of all ages join together to learn from God and the basics of archery. The ages of our club members range from 5 to 66. It has grown from nine archers to about fifteen with room for a few more.

The ministry is intended to be self-sustaining financially and relies upon gifts, donations and registration fees. The cost to join the club is $25 per person ($15 for a family of three or more). This is a life-time membership fee.

special note: The club will be suspended during the month of July to allow our Director to use the equipment at a local children's summer camp.

Here's how you can help:

Pray for the Lord's blessing on this club.

Sponsor someone who might not have the funds.

Give a gift of any amount.

Thanks for your support.

 Library Update

Our church library is still growing. Although we did not any new items this month, keep checking back. There may be more in the near future.

All the 800+ books, videos and teaching materials can be accessed any time the church is open. We hope that many of you will want to come and browse, take home something to read or view and make this a real beneficial part of our minstry to you. When the project is finished there will be comfortable chairs and a study table also for your use. If you would like to become a voluntary librarian, contribute materials, or donate funds or furniture for this project, contact us and we will gladly talk to you about it.

Food Pantry News

HOURS 9-12 Monday & Thursday

The Dixfield Food Pantry was established to meet the temporary needs of the citizens of Dixfield and East Dixfield. In 2008 we expanded to include the town of Carthage as well. Many people have taken advantage of our facilities and we anticipate an even greater need as heating fuel and home expenses remain high.  Each month we serve more than twenty families.

We greatly appreciate generous gifts received from Hannaford Bros., New Page and other area businesses and agencies. Through the generous support of many, we are able to distribute more food than ever. THANK YOU!

We also have a limited supply of clothes and non-food items. In addition there is  some inspiring literature available to our clients. And it's all FREE!

On September 11th we will hosting our Open House! If you are in the area and want to stop in, you are more than welcome.

How can you help? For fun and easy fundraising ideas write to us and will send you a suggestion sheet.

If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please send your gift today to 434 Common Road, Dixfield, ME 04224 or bring it with you when you visit us.

Thank you
